An Aldi worker was left unconscious, badly injured and alone after a car mounted the kerb and hit him.

The 35-year-old has said he was knocked from his bike and remembers nothing until he awoke with a "battered face" to see his cycle in two and no one around.

Speaking on Brad's behalf, Paula, a 52-year-old from Sheerness, said: "He was cycling on the pavement between Sheerness East Working Men's Club and Sheppey Utd Football Club when a car mounted the path.

"It was dark but Brad had his high-vis jacket and lights on – however, he didn't have a helmet on, which he's had a telling off for.

"The impact knocked him out and when he woke up his bike was in half and his face was battered.

"He thinks the car that hit him was a small black car but it could've been dark blue or grey.

"I don't know why the car mounted the path, there was no reason for it to.

"I'm really surprised that no one stopped to help him, especially when he was knocked out cold.

"Someone must have CCTV or door bell footage that can help us."

Due to the ambulance strike, Brad – who has asked us not to use his surname – rung his partner to take him to hospital.

Paula added: "He's at Medway hospital currently. We're not sure how bad his injuries are as we're waiting on scans and X-Ray results."
