Accident between motorcyclist and car in Halfway, Sheppey

A driver has been bailed after a fatal crash in Halfway Road, Halfway, yesterday morning.

The accident happened just after 10am and involved a black Suzuki motorcycle and a silver Ford Fiesta.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed until January 13.

Police, fire and the ambulance crews rushed to the scene and the road was closed in both directions. Kent Air Ambulance also attended, leaving the area after 11am.

An eyewitness said he rushed to the biker's aid after the crash and stayed with him until Sheppey fire crews arrived on the scene. It is believed the biker was in his 70s.
