Can you help solve Sunfield mystery?

We are often asked to reunite family and friends, and also find out about the history of public buildings.

Raymond Holyome of Brambledown is the first to ask about the original owners of his home. We can’t help, but hopefully Memory Lane readers will have a few ideas.

He has lived in the bungalow Sunfield, Lower Road, Brambledown since 1979, when it was bought as a family home.

These days he is the only occupant.

“Before I bought it was a rented property,” he said, “I believe the tenants were schiool teachers who taught locally and I’m curious to know more about it.

“Was it built as a holiday home – possibly for Londoners, or was it for Sheppey Light Railway staff?

“The line had been closed since 1950 so I knew nothing of it when I moved here.”

One picture taken of Brambledown Halt shows a side view of Sunfield. The other is of the property as used by the estate agents to advertise the sale.

If you know the history of Sunfield let us know or contact Raymond on 01795 872535.
