Van crashes into bush in Union Road, Minster, Sheppey

A driver has been arrested for drink driving after a van crashed into bushes in Union Road, Minster, on the Isle of Sheppey last night.

Officers posted a photo of the white van on Twitter.

They said: "Yet another arrest for drink driving.

"Police called to Union Road, Minster, where patrols found this van which had lost control and crashed."

It was the latest in a spate of drink drivers caught by police.

Patrols also arrested a 25-year-old man in St George's Avenue, Sheerness, at 2.25am on Wednesday on suspicion of drink driving.

A police spokesman said he was "released under investigation whilst enquiries continue."

Swale police were also called to the A299 Thanet Way's Faversham turn-off on the coastbound carriageway on Wednesday at 11pm when a car with three men in their 20s inside spun out of control and hit a tree.

A police spokesman said: "One person was arrested on suspicion of drink driving."

No one was hurt.
