Schoolgirl reportedly approached by man who told her to get into his car

Police are investigating reports a schoolgirl was approached by a man who told her to get into his vehicle.

They were called following the incident in Scocles Road, Minster, on September 15 between 7am and 7.30am.

It was reported the 13-year-old was not grabbed or hurt. She acted correctly by telling her mother straight away.

The vehicle was described as red and believed to be a Honda or a Mitsubishi, starting with the registration GD14.

It was travelling towards Minster High Street.

The suspect is described as aged in his 50s, with wrinkles on his face and bags under his eyes.

A police spokesman said extensive searches were carried out to locate the vehicle as part of the investigation.

However, there are currently no further lines of inquiry.

He added parents are advised to remind their children of how to stay safe and to report anything suspicious.
