Fisherman crushed between boat and barge

A FISHING boat crewman is under under observation on hospital today after being crushed between two vessels at Queenborough Harbour on Sheppey. The man, in his 40s, was airlifted to Maidstone Hospital with a suspected broken pelvis after the incident which happened at mid-day yesterday.

The crewman, from Dover Port Avenue, Gillingham, has not yet been named. The air ambulance which took him to hospital landed in the grounds of Abbott Laboratories near the harbour.

It is understood a gust a wind blew a fishing boat into a barge, trapping the crewman between them.
