Minsterskipper James White heaped praise on bowler Nathan Nichol after his side's second successive Kent League Division 3 win last weekend.

Nichol, pictured, took 5-35 and Martin Hammond returned 4-17 as visitors Wickham Park were all out for 67.

Minster, however, also struggled with the bat and their victory was far from routine.

Andy Hosken (13) top scored for the home side, who at one stage were struggling on 9-3 but they eventually took the win, reaching 68-8 off 21.5 overs.

Skipper White said: "Nathan did really well and there aren’t any batsmen in our division who wake up on a Saturday morning and want to face him.

"The result on Saturday was close but we got the win in the end. There were difficult conditions to bat on and it was never going to be a high scoring game.

"We should have done a lot better but there were a few stupid shots. Despite that we got the result, which was much needed, and we’re not going to dwell on the bad performance."
