Leysdown Elton John impersonator taking over The Sheppey Club after ITV Starstruck appearance

An Elton John impersonator who channelled his inner diva on ITV show Starstruck is taking over a club on the island.

James Lewis, from Leysdown, has taken over The Sheppey Club along Warden Bay Road, and is hosting a grand opening this Saturday.

The Sheppey singer appeared on our screens in March 2022 when he performed one of his favourite artists.

The show, hosted by Olly Murs, saw four teams of three transformed into their musical icons to battle it out for a place in the final.

Unfortunately James and his "I’m Still Standing" rendition team mates, Gareth and Steve, were beaten by team Billie Eilish.

Mr Lewis was also a contestant on X-Factor in 2012 where he made it to boot camp.

But his musical losses haven't stopped his musical dreams.

Along with his business partner, James McCoy, James Lewis will now be running The Sheppey Club at the Sheppey Holiday Village Camp.

He said: "We're having our grand opening on Easter Saturday.

"Sandra Martin, known from the TV show Gogglebox, MTV Hip Hop artist, C.R.E.A.M, Johnny Cash tribute, Reece Powsey and myself will be live on stage."
