A person has been taken to hospital after a crash between a jet ski and a boat.

The accident happened near Sheppey's Kingsferry Bridge yesterday afternoon.

Sheppey Coastguard was called at about 4.30pm.

A spokesman said: "Whilst out on a safety patrol, Sheppey Coastguard volunteers were tasked by Dover Coastguards to reports of a collision between a jet ski and a boat near the Kingsferry Bridge.

"One casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance."

The team was stood down at 6.30pm.

The ambulance service said crews treated one person with an ankle injury and took them to Medway hospital.

Police did not attend.
