Police are quizzing a 36-year-old man after another man and a woman were seriously injured in an assault.

Officers were called at 8.53pm yesterday to reports of an incident at Sheppey Beach Villas in Manor Way, Leysdown.

Ambulance crews were also sent to the scene where they found a 50-year-old man seriously injured and a woman also hurt.

The man was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a stable condition, while the woman was treated at the scene.

A police spokesman said a local man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.
