Models of all shapes and sizes are needed for a fashion show with a difference.

Sheppey author Charlotte Ralph wants to paint them as part of her body-confident campaign.

She said: "I am compiling a body-confident calendar but on Friday, August 6, I am hosting a fashion show with a difference to compliment it."

She has booked the Sheppey Little Theatre in Meyrick Road, Sheerness, on the Isle of Sheppey for the project and is appealing for women of all ages and sizes to join her on the catwalk. But there is a twist, they must be prepared to have their bodies painted.

The mum of three from Unity Street said: "I am appealing for any support, however big or small. Anyone interested in being involved is very welcome."

And she added: "We still need life-models to paint. It doesn't matter about your age or size. It's all about showing body confidence and showing others to love who they are, too."

She says six pageant queens have already agreed to take part.

Charlotte, 30, launched her four-strong campaign team last month with a full-page advert in her local newspaper, the Sheerness Times Guardian.

She said: "We are all different, all shapes and sizes and different colour skin. We come from all sorts of backgrounds yet we are all the same. We are women. We shouldn't be judged for who we are, no matter what we look like."

She has been using her body as a canvas to express her emotions and wants others to join her.

She admitted: "I always disliked my appearance and felt judged. For most of my life I felt I never fitted in. But nothing should beat you down. Two years ago, I had to rebuild my life from nothing and started a small business called Rose Gold Gallery while studying full-time for a business degree.

"Life can be unkind but it's your choice to challenge it or let it beat you. I am baring all to show that life won't get the better of me."

Her team comprises her sister Abby Dewberry, who works at the Hope Street Centre in Sheerness, maths teacher Sarah Steel and Island podcaster Kay Carter of Simply Sheppey.
