Young mum in Thistle Hill Minster accidentally locks child in house

Firefighters were called after a baby accidentally locked her mum out of the house.

The 26-year-old mum was left stranded outside her home in Thistle Hill, Minster.

Emergency crews spent 20 minutes rescuing the distressed 18-month-old child after she accidentally twisted the bolt on the door while the young mum stepped out to put her rubbish into bins.

Firefighters eventually gained access to the property through a window and reunited the child with its mother.

The young mum extended her thanks to Kent Fire Service for their work and quick response.

It took place at 9.30am yesterday.
