An easy to use electronic information point has been installed at Sheppey Community Hospital for the benefit of patients and staff - as well as helping save money.

One has also been placed at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital.

NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent Community Services has installed the E-Kiosk Information points, which are designed to provide instant and easy access to information for patients and staff about the services provided.

A patient or staff member can search for a topic and instantly print a relevant leaflet or part of a leaflet.

The units are designed to provide easier access to information and cut down the number of full colour, more expensive, service leaflets produced by the Community Services department, which is the fourth largest provider of NHS Community Care in England and employs more than 3,500 staff.

Plans are underway to network the units to the internet.
