Pair charged with weapons offences as police raid Central Beach holiday camp in Leysdown

Armed police raided a popular holiday resort after an early hours break-in saw people threatened with serious violence.

It has emerged that officers were sent onto the Central Beach venue in Leysdown at around 7am on Saturday, June 10.

The police were initially called at 4am to a disturbance at the nearby Saddlebrook Park.

It is alleged intruders forced their way into a property there and made threats to harm those inside.

Four men were arrested at Central Beach and taken into custody for questioning.

Noah Eastwood, 44, and Billy Eastwood, 24, both of Whyman Avenue, Chatham, were later charged.

They are accused of affray, possessing a knife in a public place, and possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

They are due before Maidstone Crown Court on Monday after being remanded in custody by Medway magistrates.

The other two suspects, aged 23 and 29, were bailed pending further inquiries until August 24 and 25.

The alleged crime happened a day before Gillingham resident Sam Petrou was found shot dead at Eastgate chalet park in nearby Eastchurch.

They two incidents are not believed to be linked at this stage.
