A charity talent show is to be held this weekend in aid of Cancer Research UK's Race for Life.

Bal Cheema, who runs the Cheema Brothers and Avenue Food and Wine shops and Cheema’s Restaurant and Bar in Sheerness will be joined by 17 friends to promote the event on Friday.

They will be outside the stores in Alma Street and St George's Avenue for people to learn more.

On Saturday, children can pay £2.50 to take part in a Britain’s Got Talent competition.

The top three can win prizes including a family swimming session for four and a variety of arts and crafts.

It starts at 11am and goes on until 3pm at the Cheema’s restaurant.

Members of the public are welcome to hire a stall for a small fee which will add to the group's sponsorship.

Other activities on the day include a football training course, face painting and a raffle with a top prize of a £15 gift voucher.

The fundraisers, known as ‘Cheema’s Pink Ladies’, will walk 5k in the Race for Life at Mote Park, Maidstone, on Sunday, July 7.
