Two people were taken to hospital following an assault in a seaside neighbourhood.
A pair of police cars as well as two forensic investigation vans attended a residential address in Sheerness, on the Isle of Sheppey on Saturday morning.
A violent incident left two people needing hospital treatment and led officers to arrest a man and a woman.
Several police cars and a forensics unit had been seen beside the property on Marine Parade, which is locally known as Shrimp Terrace because of its pink colour.
A police spokesperson said: “At 6.38am on Saturday 23 September 2023, Kent Police were called to a report of an assault in Marine Parade, Sheerness.
“Officers attended alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service and two people were taken to hospital.
“They have since been discharged.
“A man and woman have been arrested in connection to the incident and an investigation into the circumstances is underway.”
On Tuesday, September 26, police confirmed that Paul Baden-Davies, 43, of Marine Parade, Sheerness, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, October 23.
The woman who was arrested has since been released without charge and will face no further action.
