Missing toddler in Sheerness back with family

Police have reunited a toddler with her family after she was found wandering in the street.

The young girl, believed to be around 18 months old, was seen running along Richmond Street, Sheerness, on her own this morning.

She was wearing nothing but a vest and a nappy, according to reports on social media.

Facebook users reported that a police officer found her and and was knocking on doors in the area trying to find her parents.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police were called at around 8am today (Saturday) to concerns for the welfare of a young child seen walking on their own in Richmond Street, Sheerness.

"At around 8.50am the child was safely returned to a relative."
