Probe after Persian cat is set alight

POLICE are investigating an incident in which a white Persian cat was reported to have been set alight.

The incident happened in Buckthorne Road, Minster, near Sheerness. It is thought that the offenders deliberately attempted to set fire to the animal.

Pollice say the cat was not seriously hurt.

Sgt Evan Jones said: “The person or people who have done this have been incredibly cruel and we are taking this matter seriously. They have committed a criminal offence for which they could be arrested.”
