The Old House At Home pub, Sheerness, to be sold at auction

A high street pub set to be demolished and turned into flats is to be sold at auction next week.

The Old House At Home pub in Sheerness, which also has permission to be turned into a micropub, is among 162 lots listed for sale by Clive Emson.

Jon Rimmer, auction appraiser, said: “The pub is not trading at present and is situated in a prime position, close to the seafront, railway station, amenities and schools.

“The proposed development permission means the new owner can start to demolish right away. With the micropub on site there will still be a place for locals to drink.”

The pub, previously owned by Shepherd Neame, occupies a prominent position at the junction of High Street and Trinity Way, and has been serving pints for at least 150 years.

It closed its doors for the final time in 2020.
