Man arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after van crashes on A249 Sheppey Crossing and rolls into nearby field

Police say a man is lucky to not have been seriously injured after the van he was driving crashed and rolled into a nearby field.

Officers were called shortly after 1.40am to the A249 Sheppey Crossing, Sheppey-bound, following reports of a collision involving a van.

Crews from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were also sent and found the van had rolled into a field next to the carriageway.
