Crash on Brielle Way, Sheppey, closes road

A serious car crash has on the Isle of Sheppey has injured five people, including two young children.

Emergency services are still at the scene of the collision which happened on Brielle Way, near Blue Town, at 6.30pm yesterday.

A 10-month-old baby and a two-year-old were among those injured and remain in hospital in a stable condition.

A 70-year-old couple from London , who were in a Volkswagen Golf, were taken to hospital, where one remains.

The driver of a blue Peugeot 206 which collided with the couple's car before hitting a Volkswagen GT TDI was also taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

The 30-year-old local man was travelling towards Sheerness at the time of the head-on crash.
