John Brazil named in connection with Sheppey stabbing in Rushenden

This is the man detectives want to interview in connection with a Remembrance Sunday stabbing on the Isle of Sheppey.

John Brazil, 22, was added to Kent's "most wanted" list today.

Detectives are investigating an attack in Manor Road, Rushenden, on November 11 which left a 24-year-old man, named locally as Ryan Abbott, so seriously injured he had to be airlifted to a London hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance for emergency surgery.

A woman aged 27, believed to be his partner, was arrested but released on police bail after being interviewed.

A knife was found at the scene.

It is understood Brazil, of no fixed address, has connections in Sittingbourne.

Horrified witnesses have suggested the victim may have been stabbed more than 12 times.

It is believed the attack happened in the street around 12.30pm. Police at the scene cordoned off the road with tape.

The victim is still in hospital where his condition is said to be "stable."

A police spokesman said today: "John Brazil is wanted in connection with a serious assault."
