Thamesteel in Brielle Way, Sheerness, has gone into administration

Another rumour about the future of Thamesteel has been quashed.

It was thought a new buyer for the mill in Brielle Way, Sheerness, was going to be announced at a meeting this morning (Thursday).

But no further news has come out of the briefing, which was between Community Union, MP Gordon Henderson and current owners the Al-Tuwairqi Group (ATG).

Thamesteel went into administration on January 25, leaving 350 people without a job or a month's wages.

Its future has been complicated over a dispute between site owners Peel Holdings and ATG concerning ownership of the assets.
