Three crews tackle large grass fire near Minster-on -Sea

Almost 20 firefighters were called to tackle a large grass fire this afternoon near Minster-on -Sea.

The blaze, involving a large area of grass in Appleford Drive, started just before 12.30pm.

It took three fire crews more than an hour to completely extinguish the blaze using hose rell jets.

Firefighters with flexi packs stayed to damp down hot spots to prevent the blaze reigniting.
