A newly-formed football team has a new kit to show off, thanks to local businesses.

Sheerness East under-11s are in their first season and play in a Medway league.

The team is based at Sheerness East Working Men’s Club, Queenborough Road, Halfway.

Their new socks, shorts and shirts were sponsored by Queenborough-based Buckley Plumbing and Heating.

The team were also given £300 by Tesco, which paid for new tracksuits.

A club spokesman said: “We are very, very grateful to both businesses and the new kit looks really smart.

“The team have only just started up and are at the top of their league at the moment.”
