A reality TV star will be on hand for selfies and autographs as he makes an appearance on Sheppey.
The Only Way is Essex’s Liam ‘Gatsby’ Blackwell will be coming to the Shisha Bar in Halfway over the spring Bank Holiday weekend.
The 29-year-old, who was first seen in TOWIE in 2015, will meet and greet fans at the Great Gatsby Party on Sunday, May 27.
The Shisha Bar, which is located behind Mr India on Minster Road, will be transformed into 1920s’ New York, inspired by the 2013 film The Great Gatsby, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Owner Rajan Musha, said he couldn’t wait for the party.
“I’m trying to bring something different to the Island and gain recognition for the shisha industry as a whole,” he said.
“Our aim is to host special events on every Bank Holiday weekend in the future.
“Perhaps we will be seeing more VIPs coming to the Island.”
The event will take place from 7pm to 1am and tickets cost £30 per person.
There will also be a competition for the best 1920s’ Great Gatsby outfit, and unlimited champagne from 8pm to 11pm.
A variety of different shisha flavours and cocktails will be on offer throughout the evening too.
Shisha is a practice which dates back more than 500 years and originates from Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt and Turkey.
It is a way of smoking flavoured molasses herbs, which is usually burned using charcoal and filtered using a pipe and water.
The user then inhales the smoke and the average session can last up to an hour.
The Shisha Bar, which boasts a large outdoor decking area and bar, is open Tuesday to Thursday from 7pm to 10pm, and Friday to Sunday from 6pm to 11pm.
