The town was painted pink for charity by hair-dressers in memory of a former colleague.
Ginger Hair Design in Hope Street, Sheerness, held its annual pink day last Thursday to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
They took part in the event in memory of 18-year-old Charlotte McIntosh who died of non-Hodgkins lymphoma in March last year.
All the staff dressed up in 1980s style clothes and played music from the decade, as well as selling pink cakes and biscuits.
The event has raised more than £100, and there is still more to come as the salon and its beauty parlour Ginger Body and Soul is running a raffle all month.
There are various hair products as prizes and tickets are for sale from the salon.
Lisa Pond, who owns the salon, said: “We had a lovely day, everybody really enjoyed it.
“Everyone was really generous and the staff all went to town with their pink 80s outfits – it was good fun.
“Whenever we have a special event we put a photo of Charlotte on the desk and some flowers – we did this in her memory.”
