Academy students have been treated to a meal at Jamie Oliver’s London restaurant.

A group of pupils were chosen as finalists in a competition run by the school’s catering department.

To take part they had to come up with ideas for a relaunch and rebrand of catering services at the school.

They were asked to design a new logo and think of a new name for the dining areas.

No final decision has been made yet but 17 of those who entered were selected to go on the trip last Monday, May 4, to Jamie’s Fifteen restaurant in Islington to reward them for their efforts.

Brian Reddington, head of catering and events at the academy, said: “The pupils all thoroughly enjoyed the day.

“They had an excellent menu to choose from and some are now able to identify dishes in Italian.

“Sadly, champion of school meals Jamie, wasn’t there on the day.”
