A young dancer is all set for stardom after appearing in a video for a charity World Cup song.

Nine-year-old Toby Turpin is used to rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous because he trains at Pineapple Dance Studios in London every Sunday – the home of choreographer Louie Spence.

It was Toby’s involvement with Pineapple that got him the chance to audition to appear in It’s England Time – the World Cup song of former X-Factor contestant Chico.

He was one of only 10 Pineapple students chosen to be in the video, which was filmed at the Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire in April.

The single was launched on Monday and all proceeds are going towards the Rainbow Foundation which helps underprivileged children.

Toby, who lives with his parents Teresa and Gary and brother Ronnie, 15, in Scarborough Drive, Minster, started dancing at the age of four at Sheppey’s Helen K’s School of Dance.

He is now a member of four different schools and does all types of dance, including ballet, Irish, tap and free style as well as singing and acting.

The St George’s Primary School pupil got his place at Pineapple after being spotted at Move It, a dance exhibition.

Although Toby, who would one day like to be a choreographer, is not a huge football fan, he will be following England during the tournament.

Proud mum Teresa, 45, said: “Chico was really good with the children – he’s a lovely guy.

“Toby works really hard – he is so dedicated. He deserves it and it was really good fun.”
