Motorists faced delays after an accident involving two cars and a lorry.

One lane was blocked on the M2 London-bound between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5 the Stockbury Roundabout near Sittingbourne.

The accident was close to the exit slip road at junction 5, for Sittingbourne, Maidstone and Sheppey.

Traffic conditions were not expected to return to normal until 8.45am at the earliest.

Kent Police was called at 7.28am to the collision.

There are no reported injuries but there was debris across the road, with one lane blocked by one of vehicles as well as debris.

All lanes have been reopened.
