Sittingbourne intend to increase posters and flyers around the town ahead of this weekend’s crucial relegation clash with Whyteleafe.

Bourne’s dismal run of form since the start of December has seen them win just one of their last 11 games in Ryman League Division 1 South, and Saturday’s 5-1 humbling at Crawley Down was their seventh loss in their last eight games.

Defeat left Bourne within three points of third-bottom Whitstable though second-bottom Burgess Hill are now another three points back after being deducted three points by the Ryman League on Tuesday.

After Tuesday's visit of Corinthian Casuals, Bourne face the prospect of hosting basement boys Whyteleafe at Bourne Park this Saturday, with Leafe ending a run of 23 league games without victory with a 3-0 win over Casuals on Saturday.

Chairman Andy Spice (pictured) admitted: "It’s an important week for us. All the games from this point are going to be massive.

"Hopefully by the end of the week we won’t have to look over our shoulders any more and we can start to look upwards.

"It’s extremely important to get a good crowd in on Saturday, it’s an important game and having people behind them, cheering them on, gives the players a boost. We need that boost.

"We’ll be out this week getting some extra posters and flyers out there. We want as many people along to support us as possible."
