Cabbie left stranded by hijackers

A TAXI driver was left by the roadside in the middle of the night by a grey-haired young man and his two friends, who hijacked his cab in Kemsley, Sittingbourne.

The driver picked up the three men from Gillingham station and was taking them to a hotel on Sheppey between 3am and 3.45am on Friday. On the way, one asked him to stop the car in Grovehurst Avenue, Kemsley, because he felt ill.

The driver was ordered out and the men stole the blue taxi. It was later found burnt out in Marine Parade, Sheerness.

Swale Police are appealing for information about three white men. One is aged 24-25, 5ft 7ins, stockily built and clean shaven but with short grey hair. He wore a black T shirt.

With him was a man aged 18-19, 5ft 6in, slim and dressed in a white T shirt with collar and brown trousers. The third was 24 or 25, 5ft 6in, with blond hair. He was wearing a brown shirt and brown trousers. Anyone with information should ring Crimestoppers, 0800 555 111.
