CCTV images of robber in pink glove released

By Hayley Robinson

CCTV images of a robber wearing a black glove with pink stripes have been released in the hope it will lead to the culprit and his accomplice being identified.

The men left with £100 in cash and some cigarettes after they robbed Premier Stores in Peel Drive, Sittingbourne, just after 1pm last Wednesday, December 15.

The first man who entered the shop and demanded money from the woman shop assistant, wore a black glove on his left hand and a black glove with pink stripes on the other hand.

Investigating officer DC Jonathan Pearce, of the area major inquiry team based at Sittingbourne police station, said: "I’m convinced someone must know who he is."

The white man is about 5ft 10in and was wearing dark trousers tucked into his socks, a dark, long-sleeved top with horizontal white lines, a black balaclava and a grey hood.

His accomplice, who waited outside the shop, was shorter and wore black trousers tucked into socks, white trainers, a black hoodie worn up, black gloves and a black scarf around his face.

DC Pearce said: "This happened in a residential area in the middle of the day when people would have been going about their normal business. The CCTV footage shows several vehicles drive past just before the robbery took place, including a small white van which passed the shop seconds before it happened.

"Although unhurt, the shop assistant was traumatised by the experience."
