The Sheppey Crossing has been shut this afternoon after two vehicles crashed.

Police closed off the Sittingbourne-bound side so that recovery could take place after the accident at 2pm.

A police spokesman said it was closed while the vehicles were recovered and a spillage was cleared.

She added: "There are no reported injuries."

The road has since reopened.
