Curry Queen, West Street, Sittingbourne, takes south east crown in London awards ceremony

A Sittingbourne Indian restaurant has been named as one of the nation’s best.

Muhammed Bari, who owns the Curry Queen on West Street, was among more than 800 Asian eatery owners who gathered for the gala dinner at the London Hilton Park Lane in Mayfair.

The awards were organised by the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers and the Asian Catering Federation.

The Curry Queen triumphed in the Takeaway of the Year Southeast category. Mr Bari said he was very grateful to receive such a high accolade.
