A woman had to be cut out of the car she was driving after it smashed into a high kerb.

One appliance from Sittingbourne and one from Medway were called to the accident in Sheppey Way, Bobbing, just before 10.10am on Saturday.

The silver Renault Megane is believed to have pulled out of the Bobbing village junction, opposite McDonald’s, onto Sheppey Way, before crashing into the concrete slab.

It’s understood the woman, believed to be in her 40s, was complaining of spinal, hip and leg pain and had suffered a broken right arm.

While her injuries were not life-threatening ambulance staff requested firefighters removed the roof of the vehicle so she could be taken out on a long board.

Police put in a diversion around the wreckage while the emergency services carried out their work.

Once freed she was taken by land ambulance to Medway Maritime Hospital, in Gillingham.

Nobody else was in the vehicle and no other cars were involved in the smash.

The road was fully reopened by 11.35am.
