Burtons Property Services in Sittingbourne seeks projects for DIY SOS-style makeover

A big-hearted business is looking to transform a home, charity base or community venue in a DIY SOS-style makeover.

Burtons Property Services, based on the West Lane Trading Estate on Sittingbourne ’s Eurolink, has decided to give away a team of tradesmen on Wednesday, October 7 to a worthwhile cause, in a bid to put a smile on someone’s face after the coronavirus lockdown.

The firm is now asking for individuals, charities and community groups in Swale to get in touch.

Director James Burton said: “Covid-19 has had a huge impact on small businesses, but we appreciate that a lot of charities, community groups and volunteer organisations have too struggled with little support available.

“As a team, we want to give back to our local community – we thought it would be a nice thing to do.

“Our team consists of multi-skilled tradesmen including plasterers, decorators, plumbers, bathroom fitters, carpenters and kitchen fitters, so we can provide a range of services.”

Mr Burton said the firm was looking for repair or refurbishment jobs, with the deadline for proposals being tomorrow (Friday).

"It makes everyone feel good to do something for other people – we’re looking forward to being able to give something back.”

The firm’s staff will then vote on which project to choose and the successful cause will be announced on Tuesday, September 1.

Mr Burton, 41, said: “The team is really looking forward to it. It makes everyone feel good to do something for other people.

Individuals, charities or community groups interested in applying should send project proposals by email to contact@burtonspropertyservices.com.

“We look forward to hearing everyone’s ideas,” Mr Burton added.
