Sittingbourne chosen for Doka's new UK headquarters

Doka's new UK headquarters will be in Sittingbourne.

The Austrian-owned company makes formwork used in the construction industry.

With branches already in Maidstone, Sheffield and Glasgow, work has already begun on the new site at the Eurolink Business Park by Kent based construction company WW Martin Ltd.

Completion of the new facility is due by the end of the year. It will comprise 30,000 square metres of insulated warehouses, together with hard-standing for offices, storage and parking.

The site was selected primarily because of its good transport links.

Hennie Roebroeks, MD of Doka Uk Ltd, said: “This is an exciting time for Doka UK and marks a huge milestone for the company, its employees and customers who will all benefit from the opportunities this expansion presents.”

Doka operates in 70 countries and employs 6,700 workers worldwide.

The Sittingbourne site will employ between 40 and 50 people.

When the Sittingbourne plant is open, the firm will close its branch in Heath Road, Boughton Monchelsea, with staff transferring from the Maidstone site to Sittingbourne.
