Charitable members of the Swale Lions Club have praised the people of Sittingbourne and Sheppey’s generosity.
The local branch raised more than £3,000 collecting at supermarkets in the six months up to December.
Members have now passed on the money to a number of good causes, including Age UK to go towards the purchase of a new minibus and the Community Chef project in Sheerness.
Lions chairman Ann Hughes said: “I’m very pleased with the amount. We’ve now got a surplus of money so we are asking if there are any clubs or groups that need money to contact us via our website.”
