M2 overnight closures scheduled between junction 5 (A249) and junction 7 (A2/A299)

Overnight road works will close part of the M2 for three weeks.

The closure of both carriageways between junctions 5 (A249) and 7 (A2/A299) is to protect Highways England contractors while they carry out the work.

Highways England says it expects the work to take approximately three weeks from Monday, February 1 and will also affect all slip roads along the stretch of carriageway, as well as the road leading to the London-bound carriageway of the M2 at junction 5 (A249).

Traffic will be diverted using the M20, A2, A229 and A249 between 8pm and 6am.

The carriageway works will include drainage, lighting, electrical and signage works.
