Kent police say man's death is not suspicious after human remains are discovered in Tonge Road, Lomas Road, area of Murston

Police investigating a man's body found at a building site say they are not treating the death as suspicious.

Officers were called to the Tonge Road/Lomas Road area of Murston, at 2pm yesterday after tree surgeons discovered the human remains as they cleared vegetation.

It's understood it was lying at the bottom of a bank, partially covered by foliage.

Eye witnesses reported the body was clothed, and was "badly decomposed".

There was a t-shirt tied to a tree at the top of the bank.

A spokesman said: "There was identification on the body but a formal ID is yet to take place.

"As a non suspicious death the matter is now with the coroner and it will be up to a forensic pathologist to determine how long the body had been in situ."
