Four miles of traffic after M2 accident near Stockbury

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a three-car crash on the M2.

The collision happened shortly before midday, on a stretch of the coastbound carriageway just after J5 Stockbury for Maidstone, Sittingbourne and Sheppey.

It left the road partially blocked, with reports traffic was queuing for four miles.

A 22-year-old man from Ramsgate has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis.

He remains in custody while police continue to make enquiries.

No serious injuries were reported, and the scene was clear by about 2pm.
