The new head teacher at a town school is settling into her role.

Fiona Judge joined Murston Infant School, Church Road, last week.

She took over from Dot Bromley who retired after 26 years at the helm.

For the last 22 years, Mrs Judge has been teaching and leading schools in London and Canterbury.

Her last role was deputy head of Holy Trinity and St John’s C of E Primary School in Margate.

The mum-of-three, who lives in Reculver, near Herne Bay, said: “I had a fantastic first week.

"I thoroughly enjoyed it. The children and staff have made me feel most welcome.

“I’m very proud to have been appointed the head of a school which was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in January.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to ensure that Murston children receive the best education possible and further develop our school.

“I’m really passionate about teaching and the difference a good education makes to children’s lives.

“I would like to thank Mrs Bromley for handing over to me such a fantastic school. I’ll be meeting parents and introducing myself as I go along.”
