Police and ambulance called to two-vehicle crash at A249 in Stockbury

Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to a two-vehicle crash at Stockbury this morning.

They received the call to the Sittingbourne-bound carriageway of the A249 just after 7am.

Ambulance crews dealt with three patients: a woman in her 30s, a woman in her 20s and a woman in her 70s.

A spokesman said: “They were all suffering with injuries including abdomen pain and were taking to Medway Maritime for further treatment.”

One fire crew from Sittingbourne was sent and helped ambulance medics in getting an injured driver get out of the car.

The road reopened at 8.30am.

There were also long delays on the Maidstone-bound side due to a lane closure as work continued to fix a collapsed manhole.
