Mum Sarah Holt, from Milton Regis, appeals for good Samaritan on mobility scooter to come forward

Most women dream of a knight in shining armour coming to their rescue.

But on this occasion it was an elderly gentleman on a mobility scooter who came to the aid of Sarah Holt.

The mum of three was getting off the bus with seven-month-old daughter Scarlett and two-year-old son Logan strapped in their double buggy when the wheels became trapped between the step to the vehicle and the pavement – causing the stroller to tip forward.

As she desperately clung on to the handles the children began to cry. But there was nothing she, the driver or the other passengers could do as the doorway was blocked.

Despite her difficulty, people on the street continued to walk by without helping – but then the good samaritan arrived.

It happened about 9.30am on Monday at the top of Sittingbourne High Street.

The 36-year-old, of Hawkins Close, Milton, said: “He got out of his scooter, walked over, lifted up the front of the buggy to free the wheels and then, by the time I got off the bus, he had left so I didn’t get a chance to say thank you.

“I would like him to come forward so I can do that personally because other people were just walking by.”
