Jim Ward wants four points from two games over Easter to keep Sittingbourne in the play-off race.

Brickies host Ryman League Division 1 leaders Maidstone on Saturday and go to top-five rivals Faversham on Monday (3pm).

Last weekend’s match at Walton Casuals was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, leaving Bourne in ninth place going into the holiday matches.

Joint-boss Ward (pictured) said: "We’ll learn a lot over the weekend.

"We’ve over-achieved even if we finish just inside the top half but we haven’t given up on these play-offs yet. Four points from the two games will keep us in the hunt.

"My only disappointment is the number of injuries we have."

Striker Ashley Baverstock has joined Nick Treadwell (shoulder) and Simon Pettit (Achilles) on the sidelines after injuring his back in a car accident.

Defenders Anthony John (chipped toe) and Ashley Ulph (knee) are also struggling and Ward said: "Baverstock reckons he’ll miss the rest of the season. A car went into him and he’s hurt his back.

"We’ll certainly be struggling if we get any more injuries before the weekend. I might end up playing myself!

"It’s a shame we lost Pettit and Treadwell when we did.

"My back four and forwards are strong but we miss those two in midfield. I’d like to know where we’d have finished had they stayed fit."
