Three vehicles collide on A249 near Stockbury Roundabout just 24 hours after five-vehicle pile-up

A three-vehicle crash on the A249 near the Stockbury roundabout caused more delays for traffic just 24 hours after five vehicles collided in almost exactly the same spot.

The accident happened on the Maidstone-bound approach to the busy junction at noon today.

Police were called and a lane was closed while they waited for one of the cars to be recovered.

The road had fully opened and traffic had eased by 2.30pm.

A police spokesman said no one had been injured. An ambulance service spokesman said one person was checked over as they were "shaken up" but no further treatment was necessary.

Today's accident followed yesterday's five-vehicle smash on the same stretch which saw a woman rescued from her car by firefighters who had to cut the roof off to get her out.
