Rogue landlords in Sittingbourne and Sheppey are set to be exposed when the towns are featured on popular BBC One show The Housing Enforcers.
The programme, which is hosted by Watchdog presenter Matt Allwright, will see the consumer affairs expert head into homes across the borough that have fallen into a state of disrepair.
Trained housing and environmental health officers will join him in his quest to address everything from bad landlords and tenants to nightmare neighbours.
In one episode, Mr Allwright assists Swale housing options officer Sue Davis in helping a 16-year-old from Sheppey who faces being made homeless after the living situation with his mum becomes untenable.
The duo help young Rhian get a place at college in the hope it can ease tensions at home.
Ms Davis, who will appear in a number of episodes, said of her experience filming: “When it was first mooted, I was naturally quite nervous about the occasion – I don’t normally have a camera crew following me around as part of my day job!
“However, as the programme gathered momentum, it became a really enjoyable experience.
“Clearly there is an important purpose to this type of TV programme showing the important work we do in Swale on a day to day basis. Out team works extremely hard to do everything in our power to prevent homelessness and provide sound advice to our residents.”
The area will be featured in five 45-minute episodes that will air at 9am from Monday next week, at 9.15am from Tuesday to Thursday and then at the same time but on BBC Two on Friday.
