Chairman Maurice Dunk has told Matt Wyatt and Nick Davis he wants them to continue as Sittingbourne joint-managers.

Wyatt revealed last week he didn’t know if they would be in charge next season but Mr Dunk is happy with their work in leading Bourne away from relegation trouble in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Further talks are set to follow over the next couple of weeks with Wyatt keen to retain a competitive budget.

He said: “We need a budget that’s reasonable to work with if we want to try and keep hold of as many good players as we can. The budget is a concern, I’m not going to lie."

Wyatt intends to raise additional concerns with Mr Dunk and the Bourne committee.

He added: “There are things that need to be discussed, both from the committee’s point of view and from mine and Nick’s.

“Hopefully, we get the right answers because we could do with ironing out these concerns before the season’s over. As much as I want to stay and work hard, you’ve also got to make sure that things you want are going to be worked on. There’s been a few issues and I don’t want them opening up again next year.”

Mr Dunk was unavailable for comment.
