Premier League Tottenham Hotspur to send an under-23 team to Ramsgate on July 17 to mark new-look WW Martin Community Stadium

Ramsgate will host a Tottenham Hotspur under-23s team in a pre-season friendly next month to mark the reopening of their stadium.

There may not have been much football played on the pitch in the past year, but Isthmian South East Ramsgate have been busy reshaping their future off it.

The latest piece in the jigsaw is a two-year stadium sponsorship deal which will see the ground renamed the WW Martin Community Stadium, while the game will also be played on the club's newly-installed 3G playing surface.

Ramsgate boss Matt Longhurst, who has also taken on the role of community officer, said: "The improvements at the club and the ongoing support from WW Martin is fantastic.

"This new sponsorship agreement is helping us to deliver so much more and we are excited that the new facilities at the WW Martin Community Stadium allow us to have the whole club in one place, bringing a real sense of togetherness for everyone involved at Ramsgate FC.

"We have so much planned with the local schools, our own teams and coaches, local companies, and new 5-a-side competitions, this really is an exciting time!”

WW Martin director Ian Posnett said: "The investment in the club and the passion of the team at Ramsgate FC to raise the standards and extend their coaching work to further benefit the local community is hugely commendable and the reason why we are delighted to continue our support of the the club as their main sponsor.”

Tickets for the match against Premier League Tottenham are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s and can be purchased online here.
